• Normal hair volume:

• To maintain a normal volume, hair must be replaced at the same rate at which it is lost

• The number of strands normally lost in a day is on average 100

• If this number is clearly exceeded over a longer period, we are talking about hair loss

In people with normal hair cycle about 85% of hair is in the anagen phase and 15% of hair in the telogen phase

• Hair loss (alopecia): imbalance of hair growth cycle  too many hair remain in the telogen phase  (degenerated hair)

• Causes: several factors (hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiency, metabolism, genetics,  stress)
